J3223 - New Leaf Search has partnered with an international provider of business-to-business financial solutions in their search for a Business Development Manager, Clean Tech. You will support the channel lead in identifying, approaching, and securing new solutions partners across a range of different technologies. The role will suit a highly experienced individual capable of proactively driving new business, preparing Credit applications, working closely with Credit, Asset Management and Legal to ensure transactions are managed appropriately.
Salary: £60,000 - £75,000 plus excellent bonus and benefits. Location: UK, England (Remote)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Generate new business opportunities across a range of clean technologies.
Identify and attend relevant industry events and conferences.
Identify and contact decision-makers to generate new leads.
Develop a robust sales pipeline with short, medium and long term opportunities in-line with individual and team targets.
Meet prospects, customers and project partners to pitch for, negotiate and win opportunities that fit with the company’s strategy.
Manage opportunities from lead qualification through to final activation and into contract management.
Take ownership of the proposal process working across all stakeholder groups.
Prepare in depth Credit Papers to detail specific opportunities.
Lead commercial negotiations between prospects, customers, manufacturers, legal counsel, insurance and technical advisors and intermediaries.
Deliver opportunities that meet the necessary pricing strategy.
Project manage the satisfaction of conditions precedent, execution of documentation and pay-out mechanics.
Work with internal contract management system, pricing tool, CRM and other workflow management programmes.
Refine value proposition and channel strategy with real time primary market intelligence.
Represent the business at relevant industry events.
Share back with the business professional knowledge gained as a result of attendance at tradeshows, networking events and customer presentations.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Business development experience working with full, limited and non-recourse asset finance products.
In-depth understanding of funding mechanics for clean technologies including but not limited to; roof and ground mounted solar PV, on-shore wind, combined heat and power plants, waste to energy, energy saving technologies e.g. LED lighting, recycling and EV charging infrastructure.
Detailed understanding of the necessary security and documentation to structure purchase of receivables transactions from SPVs.
Experience developing models to evidence debt serviceability.
Confidence with data management, pricing, forecasting and budgeting.
Ability to tailor approach based on different audiences and stakeholder groups.
Highly commercial and entrepreneurial mindset.
Excellent presentation skills.
Ability to present complex structures and arguments in a simple, concise and easily understood manor both in written formats and verbally.
We strongly favour applicants with proven, relevant experience in Financial Services; particularly in Asset Finance and Leasing.
